Therapy

1:1 therapy
I offer support through 1:1 therapy either in person at The Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre in Swindon or remotely via video call.
My approach
I am passionate about coming alongside people to truly understand their story. When working with people at dark times in their life, I feel it is important to use our shared wisdom to make sense of why difficulties have arisen and provide hope for a brighter future.
I draw on my knowledge of various therapeutic models to suggest techniques and solutions that may help. In particular I often drawn on training in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Ultimately I aim for therapy to be a compassionate and rewarding experience where you feel understood, cared for and challenged to succeed.
My specialist areas
I have expertise in helping people at points of high distress, particularly when this is causing people to turn to coping mechanisms that can be considered harmful. I also have specialist skills in working with trauma. Some examples of presentations I work with are:
- Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Complex Trauma
- Self-harming behaviour
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Sleep disturbance
- Substance Misuse
- Anger management issues
- Anxiety
- Depression
Is my approach right for you?
Therapy is an intense relationship and ultimately the test is really whether we ‘click’ in a way that feels positive and helpful for you. I work by booking only an assessment session in the first instance, in order to ensure we feel comfortable working together before committing to any ongoing sessions.
My fees:
£120 / 50 minute session for self funding therapy patients
